The things people usually want to know before we start a project. Don't see your question? Just reach out.
Every project starts with a quick call or email, whichever you prefer, so I can understand your business and goals. From there I move into design, share work for your feedback, build the site, and handle the launch. You'll know what's happening at each step and have chances to review along the way.
Most custom sites take a few weeks, depending on the size of the project and how quickly content and feedback come together. I'll give you a realistic timeline before we start. If you need it sooner, expedited timelines are sometimes possible, so just ask.
Pricing depends on the scope, number of pages, and features you need. You can see packages and starting points on the Services page. Once I understand your project I'll send a clear, fixed quote so there are no surprises. Working with a smaller budget? Just ask about a single-page option, a simpler and lower-cost way to get online.
Yes. Most projects work with a deposit to get started and the remaining balance due before launch. The details are spelled out in a simple project agreement so we're both on the same page.
Usually your content (text, photos, logo, and any brand assets), plus access to things like your domain or hosting. If you don't have everything ready, that's okay. I can guide you and point you in the right direction.
Not the way you would on a platform like Squarespace or Wix. Your site is custom-coded, which is what keeps it fast, secure, and search-friendly, but it also means there's no dashboard to log into and drag things around. For small changes like updating text or swapping a photo, I can show you how to make them through GitHub, where your site lives, and they publish automatically. It's more technical than a page builder, though, so most clients prefer to send edits my way, either pay-as-you-go for the occasional change or a simple monthly plan if you'd like updates handled for you. I'm always upfront about which option fits you best.
Yes. Once your site is live, I can help with updates, tweaks, and maintenance under a separate support arrangement. We can figure out what level of help makes sense for you.
You do, completely. Once the project is paid in full, the finished site and its custom design are yours, including all the code. Because it's custom-built and not tied to a platform, you're never locked into me or a subscription. If you ever wanted to move it to a different host or developer, I'll hand over the files so you can take it with you.
Absolutely. I'm based in Boulder and love working with local businesses across the Front Range, Summit County, and Steamboat Springs, but I work with clients nationwide.
Mostly small businesses and service providers who want a custom, professional site that's built to be found. You can see examples in my Work.
Still have a question? I'd love to hear about your project.
